Day 9

But Moses answered the people, “Do not fear! Stand your ground and see the victory the Lord will win for you today. For these Egyptians whom you see today you will never see again.” Exodus 14:13

Remember yesterday when we talked about Moses? Well, Moses had a stutter that he was self-conscious about. God thought that he was the perfect person to lead His people from slavery — but Moses wasn’t so sure. He felt nervous about his stutter and believed that he wasn’t going to be the best communicator to the Pharaoh.

God knew Moses had a stutter and still chose him because he was the best man for the job! But, because God loved Moses very much, he told him that his brother Aaron could tag along to free the Israelites.

After leaving Egypt, Moses took care of the Israelites while they wandered the desert for 40 long years. God spoke with Moses on the top of Mt. Sinai and gave him rules his people should follow — rules that would help them make good choices. These are called the Ten Commandments, and (of course) we still follow them today!

Moses did an awesome job carrying out the big job God had asked of him. His bravery and faithfulness allowed our family tree to keep growing!

God creates each of us differently. From our head to our toes, we are made in all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities! God creates each one of us with a great purpose. Moses’s story reminds us that what makes us different is precisely what God uses to bless others.

I pledge to joyfully reawaken a culture of life in my domestic church!
