Ten ways to serve with your family!

Put your faith in action as a family and be the hands and feet of Christ! All of these service ideas can be done together with both the youngest and oldest members of our families. Serving our brothers and sisters in Christ is a way to give the gift of feeling seen, known, and loved!

  • Donations to Pregnancy Resource Center - Write letters of encouragement and congratulations to new moms. If you are able, consider donating diapers, clothes, blankets, or bath items for new babies. (This could be done as a baby shower gift 9 months after starting Spiritual Adoption)

  • Put your clothes to work!- It’s time to clean out your closets! Often people don’t have the wardrobe necessary to start their new job. You can help by donating to your local Outreach Center. Children can donate their gently worn clothing to help other children attending school.

  • Write a card to a patient in assisted living or hospice. - Many patients being cared for do not have family nearby who can visit often. This can lead patients to experience loneliness. Let them know you are thinking of them and praying for them. Perhaps there is a program you can volunteer your time to visit with or read to patients.

  • Gratitude Cards to pro-life organizations - Pro-life work can be exhausting and oftentimes ministry staff and volunteers can feel heavy with the weight of their work. Let them know you appreciate the work that they are doing!

  • Choose one person to pray for as a family daily for a week. It could be an acquaintance from church, a neighbor, a friend from school, or a family member who has been struggling. Write them a card to let them know you have been praying. This is a beautiful way to let someone know that they are seen, known, and loved. (Does your Church have a prayer ministry? Consider joining!)

  • Share a meal. - Invite a friend, neighbor, or family member who has been struggling to dinner with your family. Break bread together and share in fellowship!

You could also take the time to prepare a meal as a family to deliver to a new mom or someone who has been feeling sick.

  • All Souls Day is approaching, plan to take the time to visit your local cemetery to pray a rosary for the repose of the souls of the faithful departed.

  • Wreaths Across America - With Advent approaching, plan to help honor men and women who served our country by sponsoring or volunteering to lay a wreath at the grave of a veteran in our national cemeteries.

  • We hope that your family has been blessed by using our resources! If you have found fruit in being a part of The Pelican Project, serve your friends, and community by sharing our resources!

I pledge to joyfully reawaken a culture of life in my domestic church!
