Remember, you must die

"Memento Mori" is a Latin phrase that means, Remember you must die. Remembering our death is a powerful spiritual practice of Catholics that helps us focus on "the last things." The last things are death, judgment, heaven, and hell. All of us will die, be judged by God, and go to either heaven or hell. The spiritual practice of "Memento Mori" is an invitation to live mindful of the "temporariness" of this life and the eternity of the next.

St. Therese of Lisieux entered into this spiritual practice saying, "The world is thy ship, not thy home." As a part of her “little way,” St. Therese reminds us that our lives here on earth are temporary, and each of us was made for eternal life with God. She reminds us that when our journey comes to an end, we must be prepared to step from the ship to the shores of eternity. Death is not something to fear! Talk with your child today about the spiritual practice of “Memento Mori!”

Thank you so much for walking “the little way” with us this October. We pray this journey has been a blessing to your home, your children, and your parenthood.

You may not know that 100% of our ministry is a volunteer effort and that to continue, we need your help. We ask that you prayerfully discern becoming a $25 a month donor. All of our digital materials are NO COST and it is incredibly important to us that they remain this way. Your generous donation is not a payment for resources received but a way to pay it forward to others who are facing the struggles of raising a family in a culture that denies the dignity of human LIFE.

Thank you friends, as always, you are in our prayers—please keep us in yours!
