As much as I have romantic ideas of living back in the 1830s and making shortcakes on a colonial farm, God wanted me for a different time. You and me — He chose us for today.

The School of Love is our home—the domestic church—and within this school YOU are their most important teacher! It is within family life, where parents are entrusted with the role to teach their children how to protect and promote the dignity of the human person according to God's will.

Each Sunday, on our knees, we hear the words of Christ: "This is my body which will be given for you," and before our eyes, a miracle beyond our comprehension takes place—His Body and Blood is before us, ready to restore us to new life.

As parents, we answer big questions best by planting seeds early, but it is never too late to begin. St. Therese’s “little way” encourages us as parents to embrace every opportunity in our day-to-day to pour Christ’s love and truth into the heart of our home.

We make up the Body of Christ—when we offer our suffering in union with the Cross, our own sufferings gain in redemptive power.

It is Him who reaches down and picks up our broken pieces for as long as we have pieces to pick up, and Him who loves us even when we struggle to love ourselves. It is Him who heals our broken hearts, Him who binds up our wounds, and Him who rolls up His sleeves and helps us clean our mess.

As parents, when we navigate conversations about the dignity of the human person with our child, we cannot exclude addressing the dimension of sorrow that so often is a companion on our journey.

God gives us the dignity of participating in His plan of salvation—the dignity of true choice. Like Mary, each of us must choose to give our “yes” to the invitation before us—but yes is hard.

When we look at the startling number of 61,000,000+ abortions in the U.S. since Roe v Wade or consider the 1,000,000 abandoned frozen embryos in labs throughout the country, must ask ourselves, “How did we get here?!” …

Silence is hard. Especially when we pray and don’t hear God’s response.

What I love about the relationship between faith and science is that they can never contradict one another. God is the author of each and every word of Sacred Scripture and the author of the world around us — every cell of it. Truth can never contradict itself. Ever.

Let’s pray for eyes to see Christ when He stands in glory before us, for the virtue of piety so we may respond with due reverence, and for the courage to reflect His light into the darkness of the world around us.

Teaching our children the value and the importance of truth-telling is something that we all want to instill in them as they grow; however, it’s important for us also to remember that Truth isn’t something that is only meant to be spoken: it is meant to be expressed, and lived.

As we step into NFP Awareness week, take time to intentionally meditate over the beauty of God's design for love and life; especially as it pertains to the places where the evil one is sowing his lies and where we have more than dipped our toe into idol worship

Born or preborn, sick or healthy, happy or sad… Every human life has the dignity of belonging.

We start to put God first by using the precious moments we DO have.

So often, especially in today's culture, God seems to be the first thing that slips from the schedule of a busy family life. Work, soccer, baseball, laundry, grocery shopping, dinner, sleep... The reality is this is an urgent problem.

We read in Genesis that at the very beginning of creation, God creates the gift of marriage between one man (bridegroom) and one woman (bride). Together, the masculine and feminine, reveal the most perfect image of God in the created world.

The perfection of masculinity lived by Jesus Christ isn’t simply an ideal but the expectation for the life of every man.   The power of man living this imitatio Christi is that it is both the weapon and the shield in the spiritual battle waged against marriage, family, and the dignity of the human person. 

Man simply cannot be the protector and provider God created him to be if he does not first have mastery over his own desires and passions and the temptations Satan sends his way.
