Hail Mary!

This week we are talking about our Blessed Mother, Mary in honor of the January 1, Solemnity of Mary, Holy Mother of God.

As Catholic parents it is necessary to teach your children about the role of Mary in your child’s spiritual life! Christ’s step into humanity sanctifies the role of parenthood and family life.

As human beings, our God-given dignity is rooted in God’s personal invitation for each of us to share in the heart of God—i.e. His Divine life. Mary’s role as our mother is to take each of us by the hand and lead us closer to the heart of her Son, Jesus.

It is important to remember that we do not worship Mary. “Worship” is for God only, but we do honor Mary because of the role God has chosen for her. St. Maximillian Kolbe joyfully reminds us to never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.
