Made for Greatness
The late Pope Benedict XVI spoke these powerful words to the faithful, 'The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness.'
These words are fitting to share on this Epiphany of the Lord. Today we celebrate, among other things, the Magi who left the comfort of their home to seek the face of the living God.
Just like the magi, you and your child were created to encounter Christ in this same, intimate way. You both thirst for that which satisfies the deepest desires of your hearts—to rest in the presence of God.
This week, discuss with your child what it means to seek Jesus with our Pray, Grow, and Serve devotional. The Magi were willing to let their day-to-day life be "interrupted" by their journey. When the star appeared, the Spirit of God pulled at their hearts; they knew they had to step out from the comfort of their lives and embark on a journey to seek the greatness of God.
The dignity of man rests in God’s invitation to seek Him and His promise to be found.
