Lent Is Upon Us!

The Pelican Team is blessed to journey alongside you and your wonderful family toward the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord this Lent. Together, we will enter the desert for a season of spiritual growth focusing on the sanctity of life, the mercy of God, the gift of redemption, and our call to the discipleship of parenting that must begin by affirming the dignity of who God created us to be in His image and likeness.

Our Lenten study, Unvarnished Canvas, begins with this powerful quote by Ven. Fulton Sheen:

The reason most of us are what we are —mediocre Christians, "up" one day, "down" the next — is simply because we refuse to let God work on us. As crude marble, we rebel against the hand of the Sculptor; as unvarnished canvas, we shrink from the oils and tints of the Heavenly Artist….We always make the fatal mistake of thinking that it is what we do that matters, when really what matters is what we let God do to us. God sent the angel to Mary, not to ask her to do something, but to let something be done. (Venerable Fulton Sheen, You, Ch 13)

Today, we invite you to ask yourself, what does the Lord desire to do through me? And, do I have the faith to surrender myself to His will?

Our fervent prayer is that you will join us each week as we learn to radically rest in God's love and let it change everything. He will never ask more of you than He equips you to handle.

We invite your entire family to pray, grow, and serve together with us as we prepare for Easter. Use the weekly children’s devotional to pray together. Help your children to grow in understanding of our beautiful faith. And, teach them to serve with the hands and heart of Christ. Begin this week with our “What is Lent” guide!
