Your Children Are Watching

The truth of our beautiful faith is that our heavenly Father is intimately invested in His children. As a parent, you can understand this well; when we birth our children into the world, they become a part of our heart's rhythm. Our Heavenly Father does the same. When God became Man, He still carried us within His Sacred Heart.

With this in mind, let us think of Christ's passion. As He journeyed toward Calvary, He carried within Him precious cargo—the intimate relationship between the Creator and the created, the Artist and His art... With nails in His hands and feet, suffering under the weight of the cross and our sinful hearts, He had one mission—to restore the wholeness of our heart with His, for eternity.

His work—our gift.

As you raise your children in the faith and walk the storms that rage within this culture, know that the joy of His peace is only as far away as your heart. Your children are watching you.

If you make your faith a to-do list, they will too. But, if they see you walk with Christ and seek wholeness and rest through Him, they will follow.

Stumbles you make along the way, if you stay within His embrace, will be a sign of His strength, not your weakness, and they will follow.

As you strive to accept your identity as His son or daughter, as you strive to hear Him in the stillness of your heart, as you work to glorify Him in those around you, they will too. They will follow because a piece of their heart rests in you too.

Pray, grow, and serve with your child this week with our weekly devotion below. Also, make time to spend an hour in Adoration this week. Lay the worries and joys of your heart at Christ’s feet. Invite Him into every detail of your parenthood.
